Rose Pesachinsky and Solomon Schatz

Rose met Solomon when both were still in the Ukraine. We don't know when they were married, but their first child, Ida, was born June 15, 1900 in Ekaterinoslav, Russia (now Ukraine).

Their second daughter, Anna, was born September 12, 1902 in Ekaterinoslav, Russia (now Ukraine).

Rose and Solomon decided their family should leave Ekaterinoslav for the United States. Solomon travelled first, on February 17, 1904, on the S.S.Kroonland from Antwerp, Belgium. Rose followed on January 14, 1906, bringing her two young daughters and her mother Yetta. They lived apart for almost two full years, while Solomon earned enough money to send for his family.

Once the family was reunited in New York, they began rebuilding their lives. They had three additional children.
